Top 8 Rules To Live By @NWMS

By: Erionna Jones

There are a lot of rules at Northwest Middle School. There are so many that often times I get forget a few of them. So today I will be breaking down the top 8 rules to follow in order to make it at Northwest middle School.

1.    The tardy policy- a tardy is counted every time a student arrives to class after the bell without a pass. The Tardy Policy reads as follows:
1st.                 Warning
2nd.               Warning + call home
3rd.                Call home + detention
4th.                 Referral (Saturday school)
5th.                 Referral (DNA)
6th.                 Referral (administrator choice).

Moral of the story is BE ON TIME.  It’s easier that way.

2.    Head up, sit up, listen up- this means don’t ever put your head down, sit up straight in your chair like your ready to learn, and listen to all given instructions.

3.    Dress code policywe are lucky that we don’t have uniforms.  That said we do have a dress code.  Our dress code contains things such as no saggy bottoms, no opened toed shoes, no leggings, no tank tops, and no hats.  All them are not appropriate clothing that were not allowed here at Northwest Middle.

4.    No liquids- students are not allowed to bring water, juice, soda, or any other liquids. If so they will be thrown away.

5.    Remain in your seat at all times- Students must stay in their assigned seat unless they have permission to move.

6.    Limit to 6th grade sports6th graders are not allowed to attend any sports except track. That means 6th graders are not eligible until 7th grade for sports like soccer, football, basketball, or volleyball

7.    Follow all adults instructions completely- This means you are commanded to listen to whatever adults tell you to do at all times.

8.    Appropriate conversations- that means no profanity, or any bad language that could get you in trouble, as well as no negative or demeaning statements.

Following these rules will help you make it through the school year without any problems. Here at Northwest teachers believe that we have genius inside of us. They want to make sure that we succeed and I believe we can.
