Northwest: The Good, The Bad, The Best

Every school has its good aspects as well as its bad.  Northwest is no exception. Northwest Middle School is a public school located on 18^th and Haskell and despite many peoples stereotypical opinions it’s a great school.

The Good:

·      Grades 1^st- The school has grown and has become one of the highest academically achieving middle schools in KCKPS over the past few years.

·      NO Uni’s- Northwest allows their students to wear their own clothes and not uniforms like other schools.

·      All Sports- Northwest is highly competitive and often dominates most.

·      Hard Work and Dedication- Teachers are very productive and care about their students.

·      Plenty To Do- There are many activities for students to participate in such as Chess Club, Debate, Battle of the books, and Yearbook club along with sports.

The Bad:

·      Time Flies: The passing period is too short.

·      Check Please: School lunch is very bland and doesn’t taste the best.

·      750 Strong- We have a lot of students, so it’s very crowded

·      #MiddleSchoolProblems- Bullying, and other types of altercations do occur, despite the staffs best efforts.

·      Old School- The building is generally very old and needs a good remodeling.

Although these issues make us a little uncomfortable at times the good out ways the bad.  Northwest allows us as students to express our creativity and pushes us academically. No school is perfect but I feel that Northwest Middle School is  THE BEST!!!
