Viewing Minecraft

Have you ever heard of the game Minecraft? It is a game that is pretty much completely made out of pixels and cubes. It has a 3 dimensional environment and you can explore, build, craft, mine and do such much more! You can even add mods, that add things to the game (such as the Lucky Block Mod), or you could add texture packs to make everything look different, like the plastic texture pack (which is my personal favorite). So let’s go ahead and get started!

Minecraft is a sandbox construction game that was created by Mojang and was founded by Markus Persson, Jakob Porser, and Carl Manneh. Minecraft was founded in 2009 and is a very popular game, even today. Another person that has an important role is Jens Bergensten, also known as “Jeb”. He is the lead creative designer of Minecraft and Minecraft Pocket Edition (MCPE).

Minecraft development started around May 10, 2009 and by June 13, 2009, you could already pre-order the full game. Minecraft’s official release date was November 18, 2011. Meanwhile, Minecraft PE (Pocket Edition) was released on August 16, 2011. Minecraft is playable on the computer, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and on the Wii U. Minecraft PE is different, though. Minecraft PE is playable on Android, IOS, Amazon Fire TV, Windows Phone 8.1, and on Windows 10.

In my opinion, Minecraft is very fun. You can build pretty much anything in minecraft! Plus, there are many mobs around to keep you company incase you are alone (a mob is short for mobile). That includes the passive mobs, (bat, chicken, cow, mooshroom, pig, rabbit, sheep, skeleton horse, squid, and villager) neutral mobs, (spider, cave spider, enderman, polar bear, and zombie pigman) hostile mobs, (blaze, chicken jockey, creeper, elder guardian, endermite, evoker, ghast, guardian, husk, magma cube, shulker, silverfish, skeleton, skeleton horseman, slime, spider jockey, stray, vex, vindicator, witch, wither skeleton, zombie, and zombie villager) tamable mobs, (donkey, horse, llama, mule, ocelot, and wolf, which is neutral when untamed) utility mobs, (iron golem and snow golem) boss mobs, (Ender Dragon, Wither, and Elder Guardian, which is for Pocket Edition only) unused mobs, (Giant, killer Bunny, and zombie horse) and the removed mobs (Beast Boy, Black Steve, Human, Rana, and Steve).

Minecraft has many good things, but let’s face it, it does have a bad side too.

Once many kids start playing it, it can be quite hard for them to stop playing it. Many kids are addicted to it and then don’t concentrate on what’s happening around them. Some might even forget to do their homework because they want to play Minecraft. Many kids become obsessed with the game and many forget all about the time. “When the kids play Minecraft , There is lack of parental controls , when the kid is on a multiplayer server which is not set up as the age appropriate and it lacks a strong administrator to the police activity… There is an addictive nature to the game … Minecraft can cause bullying , The players can gang up on the others , there can be verbal tormenting through the chat… Minecraft can expose kids to the inappropriate content and advanced social themes. There will be violence, battle themes and some scary monsters. “The scary part is the cursing and the sexual content in some servers chats.” This is a quote from Online Sciences listing many downsides of playing Minecraft.

Although Minecraft can be used for learning, it still has some bad sides. And don’t forget that it can be very fun. You can play with friends, you can build and craft things, there is so just so much you can do! Plus, there is a new version of Minecraft called Minecraft Education Edition. You can probably already tell what it’s about by it’s name and it was released on the 1st of November of 2016.

In case you didn’t already know, they also have a game called Minecraft: Story Mode. It is a game, including 8 episodes, that is based on the game Minecraft that was published by Telltale Games.  The game is mostly focused on the character Jesse, which can be a male or female, that, with his/her friends, tries to save the world form a creature called the Wither Storm and even meets some new friends along the way.

Plus, in episode 6, you can see and hear the voices of youtubers, such as Stampy, Stacy Plays, The Diamond Minecart (DanTDM), LDShadowLady, and Captain Sparklez.

In other words, I suggest that you go and check out some of these games yourself. Keep calm and love Doge!
