In today's society we face lots of issues. They can affect our humanity our animals and our earth. Some issues are more than fixable while others seem like they might be around forever. For a closer look at some of those issues click ‘Read More’.

Poverty

80% of humanity is living in poverty. In 2018 the Democratic Republic of Congo was named the most impoverished country. Second on that list was Mozambique. Poverty exists because of lack of economic opportunities. In other words unemployment and lack of jobs. A family without a job is a family without money. As it may seem, there is plenty of jobs, some of these jobs pay poorly.  Poverty leaves families without access to clean water and nutritious food, little or no access to homes and jobs, poor education, and inequality.

Suicide

Although suicide has always been an issue it has become more common among our generation. Just in the US alone suicide rates have increased by 25% since 1999 now imagine how much it went up world wide. In 2016 nearly 45,000 people took their lives. Suicide is most common between people from the ages of 15-29. Most suicides are a product of depression or other mental disorders, family violence, sexual abuse, bullying or discrimination.

Climate Change

Climate change is perhaps one of the top issues that affects not only humanity but also our animals. For the last three years climate change has been one of the biggest social issues we have faced. The cause of all of this is us, as we smoke, litter, and pollute our air with toxic waste we are damaging our earth. Climate change has its biggest impact on animals, we are destroying their homes and food. If we don't fix this problem soon, our animals won’t have enough resources to live.

Discrimination

You may think that the Civil Rights Movement cleared up all discrimination in America, but if you turn on the news any day of the week you will see we have a long way to go for that to be true. People are discriminated for all kinds of reasons such as skin color, weight, religion, birth place and so much more.. Discrimination is just as much of a major issue in today's society as it was back 60 years ago.  

Society, it is full of issues that affect our earth and humanity. Some of these issues have been around since the start of our days, some are making our world endangered.
