Did you know that in 1840 only wealthy kids went school? Now a days, school is an obligation but, our question is ,why do kids need to go to school?
What is school?
School is a place where kids from 4 -18 are placed in a learning environment to grow their knowledge. School is a way to prepare for living life on your own and living by yourself.
Your mom can’t babysit you forever, so you need to grow up and get a life of your own. School can be hard at times with keeping up with classes, waking up early, getting good grades and stuff. But if you're planning to go to college and get a job you're going to have to get up early, get to your destination early, keep up with your job, and so much more.
School is here to teach you many subjects so you can have knowledge, which you will need and expand on that knowledge. We need to go to school to learn. Learning is an interactive process, students need to learn not with just the teacher but with other students. School teaches students to work with other people that you might not really know. Kids need to learn not by just success but by failure too.
Why do we need to go to school?
Well, to start off the Compulsory Education Act of 1852 was the law that was passed in Massachusetts that says that it’s mandatory that kids go to school. If kids don’t go to school their parents have to go to court and get fined.
In the human rights it says that, “Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.” As the quote states, going to school is a human right that needs to be followed.
Going to school helps to deal with, problem solving, goal setting, and getting things done. Knowing these skills will help people when they have come of age. School also shows students all the opportunities they have and all the jobs they can shoot for such as doctor, teacher, nurse, etc.
Lastly, kids go to school because they need to learn what it’s like to fail and succeed. It's also, illegal to keep kids from learning. Now that you know why you go to school, you should wake up happy at 7:00AM knowing that you are following the law and on your way to a better future.
