Did you know cheerleading originated at the University of Minnesota. Since then cheer has become an important sport that should not be taken as a joke. Find out more information you will need for cheer in this article.
- Don’t laugh or play around while doing stunts: Laughing and playing around can get someone hurt, especially if you drop someone.
- Always have good grades: If not you will not be able to cheer. I suggest you never allow grades lower than a B.
- Always have spirit: Nobody wants to have a boring cheer squad. Also you would need spirit because you want to keep your crowd excited.
- Make sure your uniform is clean and your hair is done: If your uniform is dirty when you come to school you will not cheer. Your hair needs to be done because cheerleaders are expected to look nice.
- practice, Practice, PRACTICE: You never know if your going to learn something new. Make sure you on time to all practices.
- Follow directions the first time: If you don’t there will be consequences. If you don’t like people telling you what to do just don’t cheer.
- If you mess up don’t stop: You can make it noticeable when you stop and you don’t catch back on and just stand there. You also need to keep going because when you’re in front of judges they will give you a bad grade for your dance or the cheer you do.
- Always be ready for competition: Anybody can call you out in front of a whole crowd of people. You may be at a football game and other cheerleaders want to battle you during the game. Don’t be scared to battle.
Cheer brings love between you and your cheer sisters it can be fun at some points, but it is also very rewarding. Do you think your ready to be a cheerleader?
