S.W.A.T.: The Reality

Some people would say S.W.A.T is a regular team of police officers undercover for a special mission. But do you know the reality of what they do?

What is S.W.A.T?

S.W.A.T  stands for  Special Weapons And Tactics. It all started when a group of 100 men were brought together by the police forces in response to many bank robberies.

What can S.W.A.T do ?

They are mostly called to handle things a “street cop” can’t do. They are used to go into a drug house or in hostage situations. They have been specially trained to handle crowd control and have special weapon and fighting skills. Sometimes they have to use deadly force because most of all of the other options have failed.

How do you join S.W.A.T?

To be able to join, you have to be chosen from the regular police forces by a S.W.A.T leader. After being chosen you have to go to tryouts to see if you are suitable for the S.W.A.T role. Once you have passed all test and you’re on the S.W.A.T team, you have monthly trainings where you get better at weapons, tactics, and developments.

What is the purpose?

The main purpose of S.W.A.T is to provide protection, support, and security. They help people who are in danger, they also help transfer criminals who are a great danger to the people around them. But mostly to save and keep people safe from any danger.

So if you thought S.W.A.T. all weapons and fighting, this is the reality of S.W.A.T.!
